Went here to let or dog and cat run on the beach, which they had a great time beach is small but is dog friendly and clean no cliffs to climb down which is great though if in a wheelchair I didn't see any slopes to access sand just Steps of about 3 to 5 depending on area.
There is a park with paddling pool for the kids and large grass area nice little cafe where we enjoyed a breakfast and public toilets. There is a car park which is very well priced but very small and was full by 9.30 am this is why I dropped a star with that and limited disability access.
A really lovely park that has everything you could possibly want from a park ....a lovely sandy beach a huge grass area for walking the dog a great area for the kids including a little ones pool a good cafe serving great food and a path right along the seafront ideal for the disabled
Good place for everyone. Nice café with plenty of outside seating and yummy snacks. Large children’s play area including paddling pool and zip wire. Lovely walk by the water in front of the beach huts.
What a gorgeous park. Super recommend for swimming when it’s calm. Parking charges 9-3 if I remember rightly and a nice wander across a park to the sea. A really great space for children and dogs and a crackin view to boot.
For some reason my other review for other place went to hear. But thank God I can change it, because I wasn't satisfied with the other place . ????But when it comes to this park, there's no enough words to describe satisfaction with this one. It is the most lovely park in Bournemouth Christchurch and Pool area. Take your kids to have fun for few hours. Definitely must go!
Our local park. A lovely little park with cheap parking, loads of open green to kick a ball and a massive play area. In the summer the paddling pool is great and the cafe is reasonably priced and open all year.
The beach here is a little stoney but still mainly sand. The bonus is that it is much quieter than others and as it is inside the harbour the water is often more sheltered.
The toilets are basic but clean.
Limited car spaces on site, pay by cash at machine,if on foot no charge, lovely park and paddling pool, swings etc plus cafe on site, at one end of the children's park open the gate anther is the beach, with gradual slope into the water.
Nice kept park. Good kiddies playing area and ideal for dog walkers. Close to beach with nice views across estuary. Toilets at cafe well kept. Cafe basic but food good
Quick Facts About Hamworthy Park
Hamworthy Park is a popular destination for families and individuals looking for a place to relax and enjoy outdoor activities. The park offers a range of amenities and features that cater to different needs and preferences. However, it also has some limitations that should be considered.
One of the main strengths of Hamworthy Park is its dog-friendly beach. Visitors have mentioned that their pets had a great time running on the beach and that it was clean. This is essential for dog owners who want to let their pets off the leash and have a carefree day at the beach. The beach is also praised for its lack of cliffs, making it easily accessible for everyone, including individuals in wheelchairs.
The park itself is also highly regarded by visitors. It has a large grass area, perfect for walking dogs or playing sports. The park features a paddling pool for kids, providing a fun and safe space for them to cool off in the summer. The play area also includes swings, which adds to the children's enjoyment. Additionally, there is a cafe within the park that serves great food and offers outdoor seating, allowing visitors to enjoy a meal or snack while taking in the scenery.
Another strength of Hamworthy Park is its location along the seafront. Visitors can take a leisurely walk along the path, which offers a beautiful view of the beach huts and the water. This provides a peaceful and relaxing experience, particularly for those who enjoy being close to the sea. The park is also praised for being a great space for children and dogs, providing opportunities for them to play and explore.
In terms of weaknesses, one recurring issue mentioned by visitors is the limited parking space. The car park is described as small and tends to fill up quickly, often being full by 9:30 am. This can be frustrating for those who arrive later and have to find alternative parking options. The limited parking availability is seen as a drawback, especially considering the popularity of the park and its amenities.
Another weakness mentioned by visitors is the limited disability access. Although the beach itself has no cliffs, there are steps to access the sand, which can be challenging for individuals with mobility issues, particularly those using wheelchairs. Additionally, the mention of limited disability access in relation to the car park suggests that there may be further areas within the park that are not easily accessible for everyone.
While the beach at Hamworthy Park is generally praised, there are some comments about it being a little stony. Although still mainly sandy, this can be seen as a downside for those who prefer a completely sandy beach. However, it is noted that the quieter atmosphere and sheltered water inside the harbor make up for this inconvenience.
The toilets in the park are described as basic but clean, indicating that they serve their purpose but may not meet everyone's expectations in terms of comfort or luxury.
Overall, Hamworthy Park offers a range of amenities and features that cater to different interests and needs. It is highly regarded for its dog-friendly beach, large grass area, and kid-friendly facilities. However, it has some limitations, including limited parking space, limited disability access, and a beach that can be a little stony. Despite these weaknesses, Hamworthy Park remains a popular choice for those looking for a place to enjoy nature and outdoor activities.
