Popped to ground floor post office then exited shopping centre turned left to the 1st floor of shopping centre for Home Bargains. I had to exit shopping centre to get to next floor because escalators are not working. They've not worked for at least 2 years.
Sadly seems to be losing businesses, but the post office here is second to none, seriously, the staff are absolutely fantastic, they can't do enough to help and have straight, good advice - my 'go to' post office
*Parking due to some work being conducted has been very tight recently - something to be mindful of

Quick Facts About Prescot Shopping Centre
Prescot Shopping Centre, located in Prescot town centre, has a number of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. In this analysis, we will explore these aspects and provide a comprehensive evaluation of the shopping centre.
One strength of Prescot Shopping Centre is the presence of a post office. Several comments highlight the excellent service and helpfulness of the staff. This suggests that the post office is a well-regarded and reliable facility within the shopping centre. Customers appreciate the straightforward and good advice provided by the staff, making it a go-to location for their postal needs. This positively impacts the overall perception of the shopping centre and enhances the customer experience.
Another strength mentioned is the presence of free parking. This is an attractive feature for customers as parking can often be a challenge in busy shopping areas. The availability of free parking encourages more people to visit the shopping centre, contributing to increased footfall and potentially higher sales for the businesses within.
The comments also mention that the shopping centre has some nice shops, although it is not very busy. This indicates that there is potential for growth and improvement. The presence of good shops, even though they may not be high in number, can attract customers and create a positive shopping experience. With the right marketing and strategic planning, the shopping centre could potentially increase its popularity and become a go-to destination for shoppers.
Additionally, some comments indicate that the shopping centre has convenient amenities such as cafes and pubs. While this may not appeal to everyone, having a variety of options can attract a diverse range of customers. These amenities provide a space for socializing and relaxation, complementing the shopping experience and making the shopping centre a more appealing destination.
However, there are also several weaknesses to be addressed. The first notable weakness is the non-functioning escalators. According to a comment, the escalators have not been working for at least two years. This creates an inconvenience for shoppers who need to access different levels of the shopping centre. Not only does it make navigation difficult, but it also indicates a lack of maintenance and upkeep in the shopping centre.
Another weakness mentioned is the declining number of businesses. Some comments state that many shops have closed down, leaving mostly cafes and pubs. This suggests that the shopping centre may be experiencing a decline in popularity among retailers. The lack of diversity in the available shops, with a heavy emphasis on food establishments, may not appeal to a wider range of shoppers who may be looking for clothing, shoes, and other fashion items.
The comments also mention that the parking has been tight due to ongoing construction work. While this may be a temporary issue, it still poses a challenge for shoppers who rely on parking facilities. If the situation persists or worsens, it could discourage potential customers from visiting the shopping centre and impact the overall footfall.
In conclusion, Prescot Shopping Centre has several strengths and weaknesses as outlined by the comments. The presence of a well-regarded post office, free parking, and some nice shops are positive aspects of the shopping centre. However, the non-functioning escalators, declining number of businesses, lack of diverse shops, and issues with parking can hinder the overall shopping experience. The shopping centre would benefit from addressing these weaknesses to attract more customers, increase its popularity, and create a thriving and vibrant retail environment.
